Youth Guarantee in Albania: Investment in skills and opportunities for young people

Youth Guarantee is one of the key initiatives taking place in Western Balkan countries and its development phase in each country is different. Albania has initiated the process at the beginning of 2022 and the piloting phase was planned to happen in September 2022.

On the 11th of November the National Youth Congress of Albania, one of Connecting Youth's partners hosted the event “Investment in skills and opportunities for young people: Youth Guarantee in Albania” with the aim of informing local youth organizations about the YG process and their role in it.

Ms Nertila Mosko, Head of Tirana Office Hans Seidel Foundation in her opening remarks expressed her support for youth on behalf of the HSS office in Albania.
The audience was briefed about the Connecting Youth Platform activities and the planned strategy by Ms Tanushe Muhametaj, Communication & Project Officer at Cooperation and Development Institute.
As part of the panel Mr Ergys Gezka, Program Manager at Tirana European Youth Capital 2022, shared his experience and best practices when it comes to youth policy design and implementation.

The discussions were closed by Ms Dikensa Gjokutaj, Manager of the Monitoring and Evaluation Department TEYC, who as part of the Youth Guarantee Working Group in Albania explained the main aim of the scheme and its phases. This panel was moderated by Ms Enxhi Lipa, Country Coordinator of CY Platform in Albania. The present youth organisation expressed their interest not only in knowing better the scheme but also offered their expertise to develop recommendations for the implementation of the YG Working Plan in Albania.

All the proposed solutions and recommendations that were discussed at the event will be summarized and presented in an appropriate Policy Brief.
