CY has demonstrated to be a very valuable learning and development tool for the youth umbrella partner organizations to work together at a regional level. While 2021 marks the 5th year of its establishment, the Platform will continue to support the values of joint work and advance innovative advocacy solutions to joint changes in the youth sector.
To discuss the plan of activities for year 2021, partner organizations of CY met online on March 18. Mr. Klaus Fiesinger, Regional Director for South East Europe of Hanns Seidel Foundation opened the meeting and congratulated the platform for the ambitious plan for 2021.
The meeting continued with the contributions from all CY’s partners on the key achievements and challenges over the past years. The partners took this chance to also highlight the effects of Covid19 in their “daily business”, presented the difficulties they have faced as they switched all their planned activities online, but also updated each other on the main developments in the youth sector in their countries.
The kick-off meeting served also as a brainstorming session about new tools and mechanism to increase the sustainability, visibility and communication of CY work. Representatives of partners engaged in a discussion about the platform’s three thematic areas of work such employability, education and participation, CY governance elements, including grasping ideas on the preparation of the CY Strategy 2021-2023, but also on the training programme on youth and policy engagement. The partners expressed their views and suggested ways on how to increase cooperation, networking and the impact of joint work carried out within the Platform.
