This publication focuses on the labour market side of the mismatch between jobs and skills in the Western Balkans. As this issue is considered of vital importance to the future of the region, the research findings presented in this book make a substantial contribution to the evidence base on which appropriate polices can be formulated. They also provide a critical perspective on the existing policy approaches (especially studding the cases of Serbia, Macedonia and Croatia) which are often inadequate to meet the goal of improving the skill matching on the labour market and reforming the education system to better meet the needs of students and employers alike.
