Country Sheet on Youth Policy in "The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia"

This publication provides a general overview of the youth policies implemented in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The process of transition within the society in FYR Macedonia was very slow and this has also affected the development of a national youth policy. Real efforts for establishing a national youth policy happened with the beginning of the 21st century, when the process of establishing a National Youth Strategy started. At the same time the processes of EU accession started, the interest and enthusiasm for development of youth policy grew further. Finally, in 2015, the Agency of Youth and Sport supported by the UNDP started a process of evaluation of the strategy 2005-2015 and preparation of a new one for the period 2016-2025.
